TCM are committed to training apprentices in the disiplines of HVAC Plumbing, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Electrical Technicians and directly employ all tradespeople. We offer regular work experience opportunities to local schools and colleges which often result in trainee placements.


TCM identifies the need for further staff training opportunities as the air conditioning industry evolves. TCM keeps ahead by referencing current trade magazines and industry forums.

Managing Director – ANGUS MACLEOD


Angus commenced in the air conditioning industry in 1962. Initially specializing in electrical services, controls and maintenance he has expanded into the areas of Direct Digital Controls and total building management projects including engineering and programming of the DDC projects.

Angus is a licenced Electrician and hold the company’s Contractors Licence.

Angus is responsible for the overall management of the company and the Energy Solutions Technologies operation



Chris commenced in the air conditioning industry in 1974 with a local contractor as a cadet engineer. After six years Chris moved in to the consulting field. Chris joined TCM in 1982 as a mechanical services project manager. Chris is active involvement in estimating, engineering, commissioning, balancing, general project administration and supervision plus sales and marketing of equipment for which TCM is the Tasmanian distributor.

Director – TODD BOOTH


Prior to joining TCM in 2000 Todd had been studying Computer Programming, Database Management and Information Systems at the University of Tasmania. Todd also worked for a time with Service Tasmania being primarily involved in computer and internet applications and customer relations.

Since joining TCM Todd has been involved in the Project Management for contract works. Engineering, producing maintenance manuals, Autocad drawings and is responsible for Occupational Health and Safety and Internal Management policies.

In 2004 Todd took over the role of Operations Manager, overseeing all business and staff activities, and in 2010 Todd undertook and successfully completed the industry nationally recognized AMCA – Managing for Profit study course, which enhanced the project management of TCM’s most successful project, the CSIRO mechanical services upgrade, involving the replacement of the existing air conditioning plant utilizing the temperature of the Derwent River to maintain stable temperatures in the offices, libraries and laboratories of the facility.

Service Manager – KEN MARTIN


Ken began working in the air conditioning industry as a TCM apprentice electrical mechanic in 1967.

Ken specializes in pneumatic, electric and electronic controls as well as all facets of service and maintenance. Ken currently manages the ten specialist technicians in the service division involved in preventative and breakdown activities in refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilation and controls.

Ken is responsible for co-ordinating all service work and reports, training service personnel and ensuring service and maintenance is carried out to company and customer requirements.

Office Manager – JANICE HUTCHEON


Janice commenced as Office Manager with TCM in 1994 with more than 20 years experience in office and accounting procedures.

Refrigeration Technician – RICK PARSONS


Rick joined TCM as a refrigeration technician in 1994 following an extensive period of employment at the Royal Hobart Hospital working on the chillers and other refrigeration on site. Rick is TCM’s leading refrigeration technician specializing in Multistack Chillers, Sanyo Heat Pump Systems and TCM’s CFC control and handling program.

Electrical Manager – ROBERT REID


Rob commenced with TCM in 2004 as an electrician and quickly showed leadership and management skills. In 2008 Rob took on the role of managing the Electrical Department with it 12 electricians and apprentices.

Rob has completed a second trade apprenticeship in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
