DDC
Controls
In
the early 80's the latest trends in Direct Digital (computer
based) Controls arrived in Australia. TCM became involved
with a large Australian air conditioning company Thomas
Clark, now marketed as TC Technologies, who had developed
their own Direct Digital Control System (still the only
fully Australian system on the market). A prototype
was installed in a large contract TCM were working on
at the Trafalgar offices complex and this was used to
promote and train personnel on. The system is still
operating and all systems are compatible and easily
expanded.
The
State Government accepted the Australian made system
into their sites from around 1986 and since then this
side of the business has flourished with around 60 systems
installed statewide, from major multi storey buildings
to smaller plant and energy management controllers.
These
projects form an important part of our maintenance departments
operations as we have installed modems on all sites
enabling us to dial up and evaluate the likely cause
of a callout. This enables us to either rectify the
problem from the office or to send a suitably qualified
serviceman to the site. This we see as being a service
of great benefit to our customers. Currently this service
is expanding to enable the on site processor to dial
out to service personnel to raise an alarm or indicate
a fault. This service is available 24 hours 7 days a
week.
TCM
also supplies and installs the full range of Invensys
DDC Control Systems. Invensys is the parent company
of Satchwell, Barber-Colman and Robertshaw.
Mechanical
Services Installations
Since
entering the field of air conditioning in the mid seventies,
TCM has expanded its operation and currently are involved
in installations ranging from the smallest exhaust system
to multistorey building mechanical services installations.
We have a very experienced group of tradesmen and have
a continuing apprentice employment policy.
Electrical
Services
A
large part of the company's operations is Electrical,
Swichboard and Control Centre manufacturing and contracting,
with ongoing contract maintenance and after sales service.
Maintenance
The
company was initially established to carry out maintenance
and this aspect of the business has expanded and is
a very important part of the company's operations. TCM
currently has ongoing contracts with major State Government
buildings (routine and breakdown maintenance), the Pasminco
E.Z. site and close to a hundred other Government and
Private contracts. As well as ongoing maintenance, minor
upgrading works are carried out as part of the contracts.
To suit the client department and provide better working
and operating conditions for buildings and their occupants.
