TCM
is one of Tasmania's leading Building Services contractors,
employing thirty fully qualified tradespeople, in the
fields of HVAC Plumbing, Gas Fitting, Refrigeration,
Welding, Electrical Contractors, Maintenance and Building
Management. The company has a long history of providing
a range of air conditioning, electrical, building management
controls systems and maintenance services to the state
of Tasmania.
Angus
MacLeod, the current Managing Director, and Bob Lewer,
a leading figure in the Tasmanian Air Conditioning Industry,
took control of Tasmanian Controls and Maintenance (TCM)
on 30th August 1967. The primary area of work was air
conditioning maintenance and controls.
The
Company expanded taking on the Satchwell (GEC) controls
agency for Tasmania. Large controls and electrical installations
were completed at St Johns Park and Launceston General
Hospitals and the Hobart Lands Building in addition
to many State Government maintenance contracts throughout
the state.
Angus
MacLeod took over the Company in 1972. The Company's
services expanded into mechanical services installations
later in that decade, thereby ending the need for TCM
to engage any subcontractors.
Chris
Wright joined TCM in 1982 as a mechanical projects manager
and became a director and part owner in 1987.
Now
TCM is developing its services in the direction of total
building maintenance management and encompasses maintenance
and installation of mechanical services, Direct Digital
Control (DDC) and electrical services systems. The electrical
services cover mechanical, access and security, fire
and light and power. Maintenance remains the core of
the organisation ensuring that our interest and involvement
with the installation of projects is directed towards
producing an effective and easily maintained installation
for our clients for years to come.
